If the history of a town like Detroit can be told by its buildings, credit the century-old Barton Malow construction company for helping to write some of its most singular chapters.
From the former Pontiac Silverdome and Joe Louis Arena to Little Caesars Arena and the new Hudson’s Detroit, the family-controlled construction giant celebrating its centennial this year counts some of Metro Detroit most iconic buildings on its lengthy resume — and it’s still at it.
Founded in 1924 in Detroit, the company began with a handful of employees during a construction boom in the city and across the United States. A hundred years later, the company has grown to more than 3,300 employees with offices across nine states and Canada.
“We’re honored to have the opportunity to continue to be a valued resource to many businesses and organizations in southeast Michigan,” said Ryan Maibach, president and CEO of Barton Malow Holdings.
